PRIDE

Dear Andy,

Today, as I read Karrie's Blog, I suddenly felt immense PRIDE for my baby brother. Congrats to you and all of your hard work!

Over the years, alot of people I know have had relatives serving in the Armed Forces, over-sees and here in the US. I am sorry to say, I just continued to tell people things like - "I'll be praying for your family" or "I'm sure it must be hard being without your loved one", and then I went on with my day without ever thinking about them again. It never really HIT HOME, in the gut, until it IS MY BABY BROTHER. Wow, it gives me a whole new perspective.

I am proud of you, dude.

Love,
Your Big Sis

I don't feel so bummed now ... I got my post card from Andy. It was sooo exciting. He even said Go Army Beat Navy. Of course, I wrote it all, but it is still nice to know he did send it and Kristie is not one up on me.

KNOWING Andy is now a part of our Armed Forces gives me a feeling that is very difficult to describe... I remember hearing 'The Star Spangled Banner' for the first time after 911... the immense pride I felt for our country, and the emotion of not being able to hold back tears. Having Andy serve our great country also brings these same proud feelings to my heart. I have a hunch that at his graduation, we ALL will share our love and pride for what he is doing, not only for his family, but for the USA!
GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!
