Today
Today, I saw my brother for the last time in 7 months.
He will spend the next 9 weeks in bootcamp, and then he will attend school in Chicago.
Today I asked him the following ?'s -
Can you take an ipod?
Can you bring pictures of your kids?
But, you can email us, right?
What do you mean there is no computers?
Can I visit you on your birthday?
Can you call us to let us know you are all right?
What if you want to watch TV?
Can you bring your phone?
What do you mean you can't bring your phone?
And every ? was answered -
No.
No.
No.
No computers.
No.
No.
I can't.
No.
If I can't bring pictures of my kids, they won't let me have a cellphone.
I just found out today, that he can't even keep his own underwear.
The US NAVY will provide him with NEW TIGHTY-WHITEYS on Wednesday.
Dear Lord, keep my brother safe as he ventures through this phase of his life. Be with him always, and watch out for his family while he is away. May their family stay strong in this time of being apart.
Love you, And.

Kristie.........I think they're called "Whitey Tightys"????? :-)
I have no idea what to call them - :)
all I know is - HE CAN NOT WEAR HIS OWN UNDERWEAR!
WOW. Way to strip a person down to nothing... I admire men/women who can go through this process. I don't think we realize what they sacrifice to serve our country.
Nice post Kristie :) At least he was able to use "old technology" by means of one of those phones that still attaches to the wall to call home :P
