respect

Re-spect [ri-spekt] -esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability: I have great respect for her judgment.

How do you offer respect to someone you don't respect?

I deal with this on a weekly basis with one person in particular. It is very difficult not to cast judgement on someone you don't respect. It is very difficult to listen to someone you don't respect without trying to figure out how to get away. What I try to remember is that every person was made for a reason, and that we need to try to learn something from everybody that God puts in our path. Even if that something is trying to not be like that person for whatever reason. Good luck, I know that it can be hard.

Ok girls, you could just talk to me about this in person instead of on here....sheesh. ;)
Seriously though, that's such a hard thing to do. I don't know the situation, so I don't know if this applies at all, but for me when I'm having a hard time respecting someone, it's also hard to like/stand them. I try to remember that they are a child of God, and that leads to tolerating and can then lead to respect - even if it's just based on their worth to Him.
I don't know if that completely makes sense (it does in my head, but that's no guarantee). =)
